The face of the X Hot is made of 455 Carpenter steel. This is harder than the typical 17-4 steel found in normal fairway woods. It is also lighter, allowing for a better weight distribution across the face and increased swing speed.
Another, newer technology that Callaway has employed in the X Hot is their X-Sole design. Also in a number of other Callaway woods, the X-Sole design ensures that, at address, the club rests on two distinct areas and does not rock. This allows a truer alignment.
Features:
- With Callaway Golf’s new X-Sole design, the clubhead rests on two distinct points of the sole, preventing any rocking back and forth for consistent alignment to your intended target. The new sole design also features a lower leading edge for ideal turf interaction from any lie.
- Internal perimeter weighting on the back ribbon of the club minimizes clubhead twisting at impact on off-center shots, resulting in straighter shots.
- VFT Technology provides maximum ball speed and perimeter weighting, giving you exceptional ball flight, distance and forgiveness.
- Short Straight Hollow Hosel (S2H2) allows our engineers to take the useless weight found in the hosel and reposition that weight in the clubhead where you need it most, allowing you to hit the ball harder without swinging harder. Tru-Bore means the shaft is closer to the hitting area, providing better feel and clubhead control.
